Alexander A. Sawchuk

Professor
Alexander A. Sawchuk was born in Washington, D.C. He
received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the M.S. and Ph.D.
degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
He has been employed by the National Bureau of Standards, the
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and the Communications
Satellite Corporation. In 1971 he joined the University of Southern
California, and is now a Professor in the Department of Electrical
Engineering. From 1978 to 1988 and 1990 to 1991 he was the Director of
the Signal and Image Processing Institute.
