“On the Robustness of Ultra-Wide Bandwidth Signals in Dense Multipath Environments”

by Moe Z. Win and Robert A. Scholtz

February 1998

The results of an ultra-wide bandwidth (UWB) signal propagation experiment, using the bandwidth in excess of one GHz, performed in a typical modern office building are presented. Robustness of the UWB signal in multipath is quantified through cumulative distribution functions of the signal quality in various locations of the building. The results show that UWB signal does not suffer multipath fading.
