Youngjun Yoo is a Ph.D. from Department of Electrical Engineering - Systems, University of Southern California (1998). He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Seoul National University (Seoul, Korea), both in Electrical Engineering. While studying at USC, he was a student member of IEEE and KSEA. He served as President of Korean Engineering Student Organization of USC and also served as Editor of KSEA-SCC Newsletter, KaSEAn. Since he joined the research group of Prof. Antonio Ortega in 1994, he has been working on the various topics in the areas of adaptive techniques and efficient rate-distortion methods for image/video coding. His other research interests include error resilient source coding and variable-rate signaling for data transmission.
